Secunderabad RPF rescues 9 kids, nabs 4 traffickers

HYDERABAD: The Railway Protection Force (RPF), Secunderabad division, has rescued nine child trafficking victims and detained four traffickers.

The operation was conducted in collaboration with the Bachpan Bachao Andolan, an NGO, GRP, CWC and District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) and was based on intelligence generated from continuous data analysis by the RPF’s Cybercell.

The children are being trafficked from Bihar and Jharkhand states, the RPF found.

Secunderabad division has implemented several measures to curb trafficking, including the deployment of additional personnel at railway stations, installation of CCTV cameras, and launch of awareness campaigns to educate the public about the dangers of human trafficking. In 2023 so far, the division rescued 215 children with the arrest of 105 traffickers and in the year 2022, RPF rescued 23 children and arrested six traffickers.
