Tiger avoids cage, kills 2 cows in Vizianagaram
Vishakapatnam: The evasive tiger avoided entering the special cage where its kill was kept for a trap, moved to Veduruwada under Bondapalle mandal in Vizianagaram district on Tuesday where it killed two cows on Monday night.
After it killed a calf last week, the forest department officials have put up a special cage at vantage point to catch it. But the tiger didn’t fall into the trap though it came close to it, DFO of Vizianagaram S. Venkatesh said.
When asked whether there were two tigers moving in the region, the DFO said only simultaneous kills can establish or stripes of the animal found on the CCTV footage.
“At the moment, we presume only one tiger is moving around, going by its pug marks,’’ the DFO said.
He said they would be watching and waiting for the next move of the tiger. The forest department would compensate for the loss of cattle.
