Wheat, rice auction under Open Market Sale Scheme
VIJAYAWADA: Food Corporation of India (FCI), AP region general manager, Chandrasekhar Joshi said on Saturday that the FCI through Open Market Sale Scheme-Domestic (OMSS-D) is offering foodgrains (wheat & rice) in the open market at subsidised prices, fixed by the ministry of CAF&PD, Government of India, through e-auction in order to control the price in the market.
He explained that under the scheme, FCI offers wheat to processors/atta chakki/flour millers of wheat products only (traders /bulk buyers are not allowed) through e-auction.
He further explained that an eligible bidder can bid for a minimum quantity of 10 MT to maximum of 100 MT in case of wheat and in the case of rice, traders are also eligible and can bid a minimum quantity of 10 MT and maximum quantity of 1000 MTs.
Joshi stated that to participate in e-auction bidder must have valid FSSAI licence, GST/Trade Tax Registration, PAN and he must declare his existing stock holding in the WSP portal of the Government of India in the case of wheat.
FCI, regional office, Amaravati, is offering wheat and rice from the stocks lying at FCI/agencies depots on every Friday through m-junction platform at http:// www.valuejunction.in/fci. Existing rate is Rs 2,150 per quintal for wheat (FAQ), Rs 2,125 per quintal for wheat (URS) and Rs 2,900 per quintal for non-fortified raw rice and Rs 2,973 per quintal for fortified raw rice with applicable taxes. For the e-auction on September 20, FCI has offered about 2,000 MTs of wheat and 50,000 MTs of rice in Andhra Pradesh, including 200 MTs of wheat for the Union Territory of Port Blair.
