HC disposes petitions against uniform cut-off marks

HYDERABAD: The Telangana High Court on Monday disposed of a batch of petitions, which challenged uniform cut-off scores for OC, BC, SC and ST categories by the Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board for the posts of SIs and constables.

The petitioners had challenged the decision of the police recruitment board as to how it decided on uniform marks to all categories. The state government had made it clear in the Kegislative Assembly that the cut-off marks for SCs was 20 per cent, BCs 25 and OCs 30. A G.O was subsequently issued altering the uniform cut-off marks.

As the cases were pending, the government counsel M.V. Rama Rao on behalf of the police recruitment board and the state government furnished the GO issued by the government, fixing cut-off marks as 60 out of 200 for OCs, 50 for BCs and 40 for SC and ST categories. Based on the GO, the court closed the batch of petitions.
