Hyderabad: The Dasara vacation for junior college will begin on Wednesday and go on till October 25. Students of most intermediate colleges were given records and project submissions to work on, during the break.
The Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) has directed junior colleges to follow the holiday schedule and not hold classes. District intermediate education officers have been ordered to ensure that colleges comply with this directive.
Degree colleges will continue to work until October 20. But the mood on the campuses was festive, with many of them getting ready to organize ethnic or traditional days. Inter-collegiate competitions and food fests and dandiya/garba contests were some of the highlights.
These holidays will serve as preparation holidays ahead of external exams for those following a semester pattern.
