Schools take Part in Quiz Organised by Indian Army

Hyderabad: The Artillery Centre, Hyderabad on Friday conducted the quarterfinals of ’Battle of Minds,’ one of the biggest quiz competitions, being held to commemorate 25 years of the Indian victory at Kargil. The event, which commenced online on October 23, is being organised by the Indian Army.

The first round saw 3,600 schools in the online mode. From them, 216 schools were selected for Round 2 (quarterfinals) which are being held at different locations in the offline mode. Of them, 72 schools would move ahead to the semifinals. The finals are scheduled for December 5.

In the Hyderabad chapter, students from 13 schools participated in Quarterfinal-2 which focused on the role of the Indian Army in nation development and transformational change. The initiative was aimed at kindling the imagination of young minds and give them battlespace to fight an intense and intellectually scintillating competition.

The city event, held at Golandaaz auditorium, located within the Golconda Fort. The competition was conducted in two rounds comprising a written test and a quiz round.

Lieutenant General J.S. Sidana, Commandant, Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering, was the chief guest at the event.
