Visakhapatnam's Chest Hospital bolsters critical care services

hm/Iana/status/1725547439808299451?s=20ttps://x.coNCTelangVisakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam district collector inaugurated a 16-bed respiratory intensive care unit (RICU) and a 20-person waiting lounge at the Government Hospital for Chest and Communicable Diseases in Visakhapatnam on Friday. These facilities, valued at Rs 65 lakh, were established under the state-wide 'Nadu-Nedu' initiative aimed at improving healthcare infrastructure.

Speaking to reporters, the collector highlighted the significance of these additions, emphasising the hospital's status as one of only two in the state to receive accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare. He encouraged the public to utilise the enhanced facilities and avail of the hospital's specialised medical services.

Superintendent of King George Hospital Dr Ashok Kumar, Andhra Medical College principal Dr Buchiraju, Chest Hospital superintendent Dr Sunil Kumar, and other officials attended the inauguration event.
