Anantapur: Some 30 nursing students from Kavali Nursing College in Nellore district staged a protest on Saturday after the college management forced them to pay college fees and denied permission to appear for the examinations.
The students who were awaiting fee reimbursement from the government alleged that though they informed the college management that they will pay tuition fees immediately after receiving the reimbursement from the government, the college management demanded they pay fee prior to appearing for the examinations.
The students along with parents staged a protest at the college. The Kavali tahasildar Madhava Reddy rushed to the spot and spoke to college management and convinced them to permit students to appear for the examinations.
The tahsildar informed the college management that students will pay college fee immediately after receiving fee reimbursement
