Kurnool: Union communications minister Devusinh Chauhan reiterated that the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra programme, which commenced on November 25, aims to ensure that welfare schemes implemented by the central government reach 100 per cent of the eligible people.
“The yatra will continue in all gram panchayats until January 26 with the objective of effectively disseminating the benefits of these schemes,” he underlined.
Devusinh Chauhan participated in the sankalp yatra programme organised at the Zilla Parishad High School in Kodumur mandal on Saturday. He emphasised that these welfare schemes launched under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi are having a positive impact on the society.
The union minister stressed on the state-level support for optimal implementation of these schemes. He pointed out that implementation of these schemes is ensuring that basic facilities like water, electricity and roads are accessible to people of every village.
Joint collector Narapureddy Maurya explained that the Kurnool district administration is committed to effectively implementing the central government welfare schemes in all the 484 gram panchayats across the district. She said the programme has so far reached 149 gram panchayats, where eligible beneficiaries have been identified and provided benefits under the schemes.
On the occasion, authorities released a cheque of ₹3.03 crore for distribution among 607 members of self-help groups under the Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises Programme.
Zilla Parishad chairman Y. Papireddy, District Agriculture Advisory Council chairman B. Maheswara Reddy, Zilla Parishad CEO Nasara Reddy, Kurnool RDO Hariprasad and CPO Himaprabhakar Raju were among those who participated in the programme.
