MyKannur' big hit among public
KANNUR: ‘MyKannur’, a mobile android application developed by a group of techies from the district has been turning out to be a boon for the public. The app provides all basic details including news, classifieds, business directory, show time, train time, tourism info, market updates, blood donors’ data, hospital data, police stations, and all other helpline numbers from the district. Within days of its launch, the app got nearly 10,000 downloads. The app is developed by Weblanza IT solutions.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Weblanza Technical Head Nadeer V.K said that the app was getting overwhelming response from the people. “There was a lack of a common platform which connects people to various facilities in the district. Our aim is to provide people from Kannur and outside all basic details they need to know about the district at their fingertips,” he said.
“We have a dedicated team to update the information provided in the app. For the news section, we have our own editor who looks after the news flow and selection of news. For certain sections, registered users can update details,” he added.
The app team is also planning to include options for a discussion forum in the next update where people can discuss various subjects and also post queries and clear doubts.
Details regarding various courses offered in Kannur University and colleges in the district will also be uploaded in the app soon for helping students. The app, available for download in Google Playstore, has been developed by Vidya V.V and Soorya A and designed by Swarag.M.
