Warangal bus station moving to temporary location by month end

WARANGAL: District collector Praveenya, along with officials of Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA), municipal and revenue departments, on Wednesday inspected the land between SNM Club and railway station to establish a temporary bus station in Warangal until construction of the new ultra-modern bus station is completed.

Incidentally, state government has sanctioned ₹75 crore for construction of the new bus station on three acres of land. The new bus station complex will include a five-storey building. The ground level will be the bus terminal having 32 platforms with cafeteria, public address system and other advanced facilities. The cellar will be for parking vehicles while the various floors will be used for commercial purposes.

Collector Praveenya ordered officials to take necessary steps for moving the bus station to its temporary location by the end of May. This will enable authorities to take up construction of the new bus station.

Revenue divisional officer Mahendar, KUDA official Ajith Reddy and RTC regional manager Srilatha were among those who accompanied the collector.
