YSRC rules out early elections in AP

VIJAYAWADA: Ruling YSR Congress has ruled out early polls for Andhra Pradesh State Legislative Assembly, contending that there is no need for Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to do so.

Adviser to government and YSRC state secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu is going about falsely claiming that YSRC will go in for early polls.

Ramakrishna Reddy referred to Chief Minister’s affirmation that AP will go to polls only after completing five years of its tenure, during which it will fulfil all its promises and assurances made to people.

The government adviser said Chandrababu fully understands that TDP will be unable to defeat Jagan Mohan Reddy on its own. Hence, he is trying to form an alliance with other parties.

Ramakrishna Reddy asked Chandrababu whether he has given even one cent space to poor anywhere in the state between 2014–19. If he has really done so, can Naidu reveal to whom it had been given.

Countering the TD chief, the government adviser pointed out that Chandrababu did not give even 16 yards for TIDCO houses. But now, he is insultingly referring to a cent of land being given to poor people for building houses as slums.
Ramakrishna Reddy pointed out that slums have no roads and other infrastructure. Whereas the cent of land being given by YSRC will be part of housing colonies with good roads, fresh water and electricity.
“How can Naidu call them as slums,” he asked.
