Telangana, AP discuss division issues

The CMs also discussed the issues that need to be raised at the all party meeting that will be held in Delhi on June 19.

Vijayawada: Telangana Chief Mini-ster K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy met over lunch on Monday and discussed post-bifurcation issues, sources said.

The luncheon meeting was held at Mr Reddy’s residence at Tadepalli on Monday. Mr Rao went to Vijayawada to invite Mr Reddy to the inaugural of the Kaleshwaram project on June 21.

They later went to the ceremony to anoint Kiran Kumar Sharma as the uttaradhikari (heir) of the Sri Sarada Peetham that is headed by the pontiff, Swaroop-anandendra Saraswati.

Sources said Mr Rao and Mr Reddy discussed the stalemate over Schedule 9 and 10 of the AP Reorganis-ation Act, division of assets, power sector employees and electricity dues during the two-hour long meeting. The CMs also discussed the issues that need to be raised at the all party meeting that will be held in Delhi on June 19.

After reaching Vijaya-wada from Hyderabad, Mr Rao and his team headed to a star hotel in the city to rest and freshen up. From there, they went to the Kanaka Durga temple where Mr Rao, accompanied by TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, offered special prayers to the presiding deity.

Mr Rao later went to Mr Reddy’s residence in Tadepalli. On the way, he stopped on the Prakasam barrage for some time and observed the water flow.
