HYDERABAD: Three persons died in an accident on the ORR near Shameerpet on Monday. The incident happened when a speeding truck jumped off the median and rammed into two vehicles. In another incident at Dundigal late on Sunday night, two persons on a bike were killed when their bike skidded.
According to Shameerpet police, on Monday at 7.20 am a truck heading towards Keesara from Medchal, hit the median. As the truck was speeding, it crossed over to the other side. It then hit a car and a pick-up van in the opposite stretch.
As a result of the crash, the pick-up van driver V. Narsimha, 48, and cleaner Subhash Pashwan, 27, died on the spot. Along with them, Nallabothula Vinay, 22, who was in the truck died on the spot.
Two persons in the car were injured in the crash. Police found the truck driver fled from the spot after the crash and a hunt is on to trace him.
A prime facie probe revealed that the incident was a result of the truck driver speeding. It is also being probed if he was driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
Meanwhile, at Dundigal police station limits under Cyberabad commissionerate, Yuvaraj, 37, and Sirarama Naidu, 22, both friends, started from Gandimaisamma and were going towards Shapur Nagar. At Bahadurpally, while taking a U-turn they lost control of the bike, skidded and the bike rammed into the divider. As they hit the median at high speed, they received severe injuries and died on the spot.
