Blood donation drives held across Telangana
Hyderabad: As part of the Swatantra Bharat Vajrotsavalu celebrations, the Telangana health department collected 10,000 units of blood through donation drives on Wednesday throughout the State.
A large number of donors from all walks of life volunteered to donate blood in district hospitals and primary health centres. Numerous elected representatives, MLAs,municipal mayors, and district collectors took part in the drive.
The blood drive, which was organised by the health department in collaboration with other departments with the objective of collecting at least 75 units of blood from each Assembly constituency, was a success, with an average of 200 units of blood being collected from each camp.
T. Harish Rao, health minister, who participated in the campaign at the Siddipet camp office, stressed the importance of voluntary blood donation by describing it as a noble deed. Swatantra Bharata Vajrotsavalu Committee chairman K. Keshava Rao, Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender, Nizamabad MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha, Mayor Gadwal Vijaya Laxmi, and others participated in the blood donation camp held at Telangana Bhavan.
