Vijayawada: The Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanams earned revenue of Rs 16 crore for Dasara festival, temple executive officer D. Bramaramba said here on Monday.
She said they had made good arrangements for the Dasara festival and a large number of Bhavanis turned up at the temple and offered special puja this year when compared with that of the last two years. She said they had spent Rs 10.5 crore for making arrangements at the temple.
The temple EO said they would close the temple at 11 am on October 25 due to solar eclipse and would open it after performing Maha Nivedana and offering Aarathi on October 26.
She said that from October 26, they would be organising Karthika Masam festivities and Bhavani Deekshas would also commence from November 4 to 8 and added that they would organise ‘Koti Deepothsavam’ on November 7 on Indra Keeladri.
She also said that the temple would be closed again on November 8 due to the lunar eclipse.
