APNRTS Holding Programmes on Safe Migration

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRTS) is conducting programmes on migrating safely to various countries for employment.

APNRTS president Venkat S. Medapati pointed out that a large number of people from Andhra Pradesh migrate to countries in the Gulf in search of better employment opportunities. However, due to a lack of awareness, some fall prey to illegal agents. They also face challenges upon arriving in those countries.

To raise awareness about such incidents, curb illegal migration, and educate people about safe migration practices, APNRTS is conducting awareness campaigns on safe migration. Two such awareness programmes have already been held in Razole and Amalapuram in collaboration with the respective district administrations.

Venkat said in the coming days, non-resident Telugu Society has decided to conduct more such awareness programmes on illegal migration and safe migration practices.

He underlined that their society is encouraging social welfare officers, NGOs, women police and volunteers to inform every household about the services of APNRTS. Individuals planning to go abroad or currently residing in foreign countries can contact the society’s 24/7 helpline number 0863 2340678 or WhatsApp 85000 27678 for assistance.

APNRTS is an AP government entity dedicated to the welfare, safety, service and development of Telugu migrants from Andhra Pradesh spread across various countries. As per the directives of AP Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the society offers various free services mainly on illegal and safe migration practices.

APNRTS offers financial assistance of Rs.10 lakh under Pravasandhra Bharosa Bima, Rs.50,000 ex-gratia to families of deceased NRTs (non-resident Telugus) and repatriation assistance.
