Karimnagar: Husnabad MLA Ponnam Prabhakar sanctioned Rs 375 crore to TSRTC soon after assuming charge as minister for transport and BC welfare in his chambers at the Secretariat in Hyderabad on Monday.
He occupied the seat amid Vedic chants after performing traditional puja rituals.
On the occasion, he cleared three files, which included reimbursement of Rs 212.50 crore to TSRTC towards free bus service; release of another Rs 162.50 crore to the corporation and sanction of 1 lakh medical claim to the bereaved family members of an RTC employee Pandu Babu.
AICC state in-charge Manikrao Thakre, ministers Konda Surekha, Tummala Nageswara Rao and Jupalli Krishna Rao, MLAs G. Vivek, Medipally Satyam, Satyanarayana and Adi Srinivas, MLC T. Jeevan Reddy and former MPs V. Hanumantha Rao and Anjan Kumar Yadav greeted Prabhakar after he took charge.
Chief secretaries of the corporation Burra Venkatesham and Vani Prasad along with the corporation managing director V.C. Sajjanar were also present.
