Andhra Pradesh NGOs threaten ‘direct fight’ with government
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers' (APNGO) Association has warned that it will resort to a direct fight with the AP government if demands of employees, including payment of pending arrears, are not met by the government.
The threat came soon after the association unanimously elected the new office bearers of the state-level body at the NGO Home in Gandhinagar area of Vijayawada on Wednesday.
Bandi Srinivasa Rao has been re-elected president and K.V. Siva Reddy re-elected general secretary of the APNGO Association. Remaining 20 posts, including those of vice presidents, associate presidents, secretaries, and publicity secretaries, have also been bagged by Srinivasa Rao and Siva Reddy panel.
Srinivasa Rao reiterated that the newly elected body will work hard for solving the problems being faced by employees by mounting pressure on the government. In this context, he demanded state government form a PRC Committee to implement the 12th PRC.
Siva Reddy said many issues relating to employees, including CPS, have been pending for years, apart from payment of pending arrears related to DA, GPF and surrender leaves.
The new committee members are Bandi Srinivasa Rao (president, Water Resources Department), K.V. Siva Reddy (general secretary, Medical and Health), Ch. Purushottham Naidu (associative president, Commercial Taxes), K. Jagadeeswara Rao (organising secretary, Minor and Medium Irrigation), A. Ranga Rao (treasurer, Minor and Medium Irrigation), D.V. Ramana, Y. Prasad, P. Srinivas, V. Dastagiri Reddy, J. Madhav, A. Srinivasa Rao, P. Srinivasulu, Sk. Nagaur Sharif (vice presidents), B. Janaki (publicity secretary), V. Subba Reddy, S.B.V. Ram Prasad, A. Ranjithkumar Naidu, M.V. Krishna Reddy, P. Siva Prasad (secretaries), and P. Tulasi Ratnam (woman secretary).
Following the election of the new body, government employees took out a huge procession from the Old Bus Station to NGO’s Home.
Before the closing time of filing nominations, only candidates belonging to Bandi Srinivasa Rao and Siva Reddy panel had filed their nominations. As such, election officials announced that the new office bearers of the APNGO Association have been elected unanimously.
