ADILABAD: In a poignant scene, family members of a 16-year-old boy, Chunarkar Sachin, celebrated his birthday shortly after his death, by keeping his body by their side at home in Babapur village in Asifabad mandal, Komaram Bheem Asifabad district.
They celebrated Sachin's birthday after midnight as his birthday fell on Friday. He died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mancherial on Thursday evening.
The boy’s parents Gunavanth Rao and Lalitha and other family members cut a cake by keeping it near Sachin’s body and then they went into prayers. Later on Friday, the family performed the funeral in a normal manner.
Family members cut the cake by lifting and using Sachin’s hand. His relatives and friends sang “Happy Birthday to Sachin” and clapped when the body was laid down on a cot.
Chunarkar Sachin had just completed his SSC in a private school and got a 7.7 grade in the SSC results. The family said Sachin developed stomach pain at home and was taken to a Mancherial Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
