SC refuses to provide case dairy to Sunitha
ANANTAPUR: A Supreme Court bench on Tuesday reportedly refused to provide details of the case diary in former minister Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy murder case to petitioner Dr. Sunitha, daughter of the deceased.
Sunitha had filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the TS High Court granting anticipatory bail to Kadapa MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy.
However, the Supreme Court bench comprising Justice Sanjeev Khanna and Justice Bela Trivedi refused to give the case diary to the petitioner. It, however, directed the CBI to submit original records of the police file to it in a sealed cover.
Further, the Supreme Court directed the CBI to file counter in Sunitha’s petition in two weeks and posted the case to September second week.
The bench observed that the Vivekananda Reddy murder case is a serious issue. It made it clear that petitions related to the case will be merged. It said petitions of Avinash Reddy and Erra Gangi Reddy will be combined for hearing.
Gangi Reddy had been granted bail by the Telangana High Court in the case. But the Supreme Court issued stay orders on the bail following a petition by Sunitha.
Counsel for Erra Gangi Reddy sought that his petition be heard separately, to which the Supreme Court refused.
