A woman farmer finally realised the value of Disha app when she used it following a person’s attempt to molest her in a deserted area near Kambaluru village in Rudravaram mandal of Nandyal district.
The victim had earlier ignored downloading of the Disha app even though the local ward volunteer and Sachivalayam staff repeatedly explained the benefits of the app and advised her to download it. Eventually, however, she downloaded the app under pressure from Sachivalayam staff.
On Friday, when the woman was returning from her field on outskirts of Kambaluru village, a person named Prasad of the same village tried to molest her in a deserted area. When she shouted for help, nearby farmers rushed to the spot. However, the accused fled from the place.
The woman then called Disha team, which tracked Prasad and arrested him under sections of 354A, 354B and 506.
