HC adjourned bail petitions of YS Bhasker Reddy
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Friday heard Y.S. Bhaskar Reddy, father of Kadapa YSRC MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy, and Gajjala Uday Kumar Reddy, who requested the court to grant them bail in the Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy murder case. The duo was arrested five months ago. The court adjourned the bail petitions for further hearing to August 24.
T. Niranjan Reddy, speaking for Bhasker Reddy, said bail petitions should be disposed of within two weeks from the date of filing, as per Supreme Court guidelines. He said the CBI had filed the chargesheet in June and the petitioners were entitled to bail as the investigation was complete, Niranjan Reddy said the CBI had arrested the petitioners without direct or substantial evidences against them.
Allot case number to the petition
Justice K. Lakshman of the Telangana High Court on Friday directed the registry to allot a case number to the petition filed by the retired IAS officer Ajey Kallem, who had complained that the CBI had distorted the statements he had given in relation to the Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy murder case.
The statement Kallem referred to was about his presence in the house of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on the day of the murder. The registry had raised objections in allocating a number to his petition. On Friday, the High Court overruled the objections.
