Health secretaries protest over workload in Vizag
VISAKHAPATNAM: United Medical and Health Employees Union on Friday organised protests throughout Visakhapatnam district against the enormous workload that health secretaries of village/ward secretariats are facing.
Addressing a protest meeting at the GVMC Gandhi statue, union president Satyanarayana pointed out that, unlike other organisations, health secretaries of medical and health departments have to manage 47 apps and 70 sub-apps related to them.
Because of this, health secretaries have to work with apps from morning to night. This is subjecting them to mental pressure and they are unable to deliver quality medical services to people, Satyanarayana pointed out.
The union leader suggested that data entry operators be appointed to deal with apps and other technical work at every health center. Health secretaries can then dedicatedly extend quality medical services to the people, he underlined.
