Missing Piler tribal school hostel girls found safe

TIRUPATI: An intense search for two girls missing from the tribal school hostel in Piler mandal of Annamayya district came to a close when they were found at their grandmother's house. According to police, the two 10-year-old girls, students of tribal school in Kotapalli of Piler mandal, left the hostel premises early on Friday at 5.30 am without notifying the warden.

Upon realising their absence, the hostel warden immediately lodged a complaint with Piler Urban police, who immediately launched a search operation. In the interim, the two girls reached their grandmother's house in Piler.

After receiving information in this regard, police reached the grandmother's residence and safely handed over the girls to the hostel warden. Meanwhile, disappearance of five girls from various locations during the last two days had led to an uproar.

The girls have gone missing from Ojili in Tirupati district, Kuppam and K.V. Palle in Chittoor district, and Piler in Annamayya district. Family members of missing girls have lodged complaints with the respective police stations. While search operations are underway, it has emerged that out of the five, three girls aged around 17 years left their homes due to personal issues.
