Rains to lash parts of north AP
VISAKHAPATNAM: There is a low-pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of West Bengal and north Odisha coasts on Friday. The associated cyclonic circulation is extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level, tilting southwards with height.
The cyclonic circulation is likely to move west north-westwards across north Odisha and north Chhattisgarh during the next 2–3 days. Under its influence, moderate rains accompanied by squally winds are likely during the next two to three days.
During the last 24 hours, Narasannapeta in Srikakulam district has received rainfall of 6.35 cm, followed by Ranasthalam 5 cm, Sompeta 4 cm, Sarubujjili and Etcherla 4.2 cm and Srikakulam town 3.5 cm.
Low-lying areas have been inundated in many parts of Srikakulam town causing inconvenience to commuters.
However, rains have brought down temperatures in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Parvathipuram Manyam districts.
