Leopard hit by train dies in Anantapur

Anantapur: Villagers of D. Cherlopalli in Bathalapalli mandal of Anantapur district found a leopard dead next to the railway tracks on Wednesday.

On receiving information, police and forest authorities reached the place. It is suspected the wild animal was crossing the railway line when it got hit by a speeding train in the early hours of Wednesday.

Forest authorities say the leopard was about two-year old. A team of veterinary doctors have conducted a post-mortem on the wild animal.
