IIT-H Organises Green Tour at Campus
Hyderabad: The Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad (IIT-H) is all set to complete its phase-2 construction, with several campus blocks aspiring for the prestigious GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) Green Building Rating.
To showcase the green building concept, IITH in collaboration with GRIHA Council organised a green tour for professionals, students, and other stakeholders at the campus.
The tour included interactive sessions with the project's architect, green building consultant, and experts from GRIHA Council, which covered topics such as energy conservation, renewable energy, water-saving techniques, and sustainable designs.
Prof BS Murty, director of IIT Hyderabad, said the tour was crucial as it helped the youth understand the significance of energy conservation, renewable energy, and water-saving techniques.
The Green Tour also served as a precursor to the upcoming 15th GRIHA Summit in New Delhi on November 23 and 24, which will highlight the importance of measuring and managing aspects such as energy consumption and waste generation, emphasising a collective effort toward a greener future.
