Mines minister Peddireddy extends CFE, CFO deadline
Kurnool: AP mines minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy has extended the deadline for consent for establishment (CFE) and consent for operations (CFO) from three to five years, providing relief to the black limestone industry.
He also announced a 5 per cent reduction in 'dead rent' and a Rs 2 per unit reduction in power charges for black limestone industries, including MDL granite factories.
Addressing a meeting with industry representatives in Banaganapalle, minister Peddireddy acknowledged the concerns raised by mine owners regarding the 10-fold increase in dead rent under G.O. 65 and the frequency of royalty payments.
He assured them that the government would consider their suggestions and make a positive decision after a thorough review.
Peddireddy commended finance minister Buggana Rajendranath for his efforts in reducing GST on tamarind and black limestone industries from 18 per cent to 5 per cent. He also highlighted the government's commitment to fulfilling Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy's promise of reducing electricity charges and emphasised the importance of mine owners cooperating with the government in pollution control measures.
Finance minister Buggana Rajendranath, present at the meeting, announced a review of the tax imposed on the CFO over a three-year period and flexibility in the vehicle tracking system. He also assured industry representatives that the government would consider their opinions on the method of paying three months on renewal and dead rent.
ZP chairman Yerrabotula Papireddy, Banaganapalle MLA Katasani Ramireddy, Nandyal Member of Parliament Pocha Brahmananda Reddy, Nandyal district collector Dr Manazir Jeelani Samoon, and representatives from various industries, truck owners, and others participated in the meeting.
