Police issue guidelines for New Year eve
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police on Sunday issued guidelines for three-star and above hotels, clubs and pubs for New Year celebrations planned on the intervening night of December 31 and January 1.
Those interested in organising events and programmes may submit a written application to the Hyderabad police commissioner for the issuance of permits for the upcoming New Year's celebrations at least 10 days in advance.
The police also issued directives on “decency of apparel”, appropriate attire, dance acts, gestures, and the prohibition of firearms and fireworks, as well as the prohibition of serving liquor after the permitted hours.
The management will also be required to post notices at the entrance and inside the establishments informing customers that drunk driving is an offence under Section 185 of the Motor Vehicle Act and that if they are caught driving while intoxicated, a case will be filed against the establishments apart from the revellers.
