VISHAKHAPATNAM: In a bid to accelerate critical developmental projects within the city areas, the GVMC has issued directives for early completion of road and junction enhancement initiatives.
Commissioner Saikanth Varma took a round of areas like Akkayapalem, Giri Pradakshina Road, and the Seetammadhara - Satyam Junction Road in Zone-5, along with engineering and town planning officials for an on-the-spot inspection of works.
The primary focus was on the ongoing road widening, drainage construction, footpath installation, centre median establishment and junction enhancement from Dondaparthi Junction through Akkayapalem to the NH in Zone 5, the commissioner told the media.
Expressing concern over the delay in the execution of these works, he called for efforts to ensure public accessibility for these areas by Dec 31.
The commissioner asked superintending engineer Venugopal and ACP Ramakrishna to reposition electricity poles where necessary and clear encroachments impeding the projects' advancement.
Attempted at are comprehensive infrastructure enhancement, encompassing road widening, drainage systems, footpaths, central lighting, and center median development across various segments from Marripalem Junction, Marriott Hotel Madhavadhara, Murali Nagar, to Seetammadhara - Alluri Seetharamaraju Junction.
