Tearful Adieu to CRPF SI Sudhakar Reddy
KURNOOL: A tearful farewell with full military and state honours was given to CRPF Sub-Inspector Sudhakar Reddy from the 165th Battalion, who died in an exchange of fire with Naxalites in Chhattisgarh on Sunday.
Amid emotional scenes, the body was brought to his hometown of Velagaturu village near Koilakuntla in Nandyal district on Monday.
The confrontation took place in Jagargunda police station area in the morning when a team of the CRPF's 165th battalion was out on an anti-Naxal operation.
CRPF officials transported the body via a special flight and then in a convoy to his native village, where top CRPF officials, along with local police officials led by Allagadda DSP Venkata Ramaiah, paid their last respects to the deceased.
The body of Sudhakar Reddy was laid to rest in the village burial ground as per protocol.
Banagapalle MLA Katasani Rami Reddy, officers from Nandyal district, as well as police and civil administration officials, along with hundreds of villagers were present to bid a tearful farewell to Sudhakar Reddy.
