Blaze images go viral on social media

HYDERABAD: Social media users posted pictures of the blaze and the
dense smoke from the building, which was seen as far away as NTR Marg and Sikh Village, among other places in a 6-to-8 kilometer radius of Minister Road in Ramgopalpet.

The smoke from the building was visible from many parts of the city, and online users were seen posting images on social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Instagram, and Twitter while expressing empathy for the victims and praying for them. "I was flying kites on the roof terrace of my building when I noticed the thick smoke coming from the Tank Bund side of the city.

The people in our building gathered on the terrace and took pictures of the blaze,” said Naresh Thatari, a resident of Sikh Village. Angry and upset netizens questioned the government and fire safety department on their inability to curb such mishaps. “Back to back fire mishaps in the city. Hope the concerned authorities are taking necessary steps,” said a user on Instagram.

“11 people were killed in a fire at Bhoiguda in March 2022, which followed urgent steps against godowns. Now I heard them speaking about checking such buildings, why does it take such jarring incidents for the authorities to take notice and act,” asked Samuel Leo, a resident of Somajiguda.
