Hyderabad: The Mothey police of Suryapet district on Monday booked two groups for assaulting each other in connection with the distribution of 2BHK houses.
Mothey sub-inspector K. Mahesh said said that the government had allocated 70 2BHK units for which more than 100 persons had applied.
"Revenue officials distributed the houses to 70 selected beneficiaries on Sunday. Angered by this, those who were left out, including women, threw chilli power on BRS leaders at Appannagudem. This led to clashes between the two groups," the SI said.
The tahsildar on Monday provided those who were left out with open plots on government land in Mothey mandal and distributed allotment letters.
