I am a Rajini fan, say corporators in Bengaluru
Bengaluru: With just two days left for the release of the much-hyped Rajinikanth-starrer ‘Kabali’ and tickets sold out in record time at multi-screens and theatres, the ‘Kabali’ mania has now hit corporators in a big way.
Following the huge demand from party workers, corporators, especially those in Tamil-dominated areas, have been making frantic calls to malls and theatre owners to block tickets in large numbers. They do not want to leave anything to chance and are calling up managers of multiplexes to block tickets.
Even AIADMK leader E. Pugazhendi, a former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Tamil Nadu has booked about 10 tickets for the first day. He has approached the authorities of INOX at Garuda Mall and requested for 10 tickets.
Online, tickets are being sold like hot cakes and on Tuesday they got sold out in a matter of few hours.
Any Rajinikanth movie is like an adrenalin rush for its fans. Since the movie will be released in many languages it has more scope for an increased fan following. Following heavy demand from Rajini-followers and party workers, about 20 tickets have been booked at Swagath theatre in Jayanagar, said Jelly Ramesh, former corporator from Puttenahalli ward.
“When ‘Linga’ with Rajinikanth in the lead, was released, I had booked 50 tickets. Now when party workers make the request, we have to oblige them,” he said.
Another corporator, Chandrappa Reddy, has requested that about 70 tickets be blocked for any show on the first day. As the release draws closer, the demand for tickets are shooting even further, said sources.
