Sports school's students want Harikrishna back
HYDERABAD: Students of Telangana Sports School at Hakimpet continued protests on the campus demanding that the suspension of former OSD Dr T. Harikrishna be revoked. Harikrishna was suspended last week on allegations of sexually harassing girl students of the institution, all minors.
The state government has already constituted a committee to inquire into the allegations and simultaneously the Child Protection Unit of Medchal Malkajgiri District also started a probe into the allegations. Inquiries were conducted on the campus and statements of students were recorded. The staff at the institution were also grilled. The report is yet to be submitted.
On Saturday a large number of students protested at the campus entrance. They urged the government to drop the suspension orders issued against their OSD and reinstate him to work at the institution.
For the time of Harikrishna’s suspension, students have been protesting. They even protested when the inquiry committee visited the campus and blocked their vehicles. After suspension orders were issued, several students voiced out their support for Harikrishna, claiming that the allegations against him were a conspiracy to tarnish the image of the institution, which was excelling under his guidance.
