Jagan inaugurates lift irrigation scheme in Krishnagiri
Kurnool: Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy formally inaugurated a lift irrigation project aimed at supplying both drinking and irrigation water to 77 tanks at Lakkasagaram in Krishnagiri mandal on Tuesday. The project was initially budgeted at Rs 253.72 crore, with the state government having invested Rs 207 crore so far, according to officials.
The Chief Minister arrived at Orvakal airport via a special flight and then reached the Lakkasagaram pump house by helicopter to inaugurate the project.
The project encompasses a pumping station at Alamkonda, serving as its starting point, with water distributed to various areas through a network of pipelines, providing water for approximately 10,300 acres in Kurnool and Nandyal districts.
The inauguration event was attended by water resources minister Ambati Rambabu, finance minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, labour minister G. Jayaram, as well as legislators Katasani Rambhupal Reddy, Kangati Sridevi, Dr M.A. Hafeez Khan, Shilpa Chakrapani Reddy, T. Arthur, and Dr J. Sudhakar. District Collector Dr G. Srijana, DIG S. Senthil Kumar and others were also present.
