VIJAYAWADA: Two students drowned in a lake near Gannavaram on Sunday afternoon. According to the police, six friends from Patamata of Vijayawada went for a photoshoot at Bapata lake in Savarigudem near Gannavaram mandal in Krishna district.
Out of six friends, two ventured into the waters while the remaining four, A. Raja Reddy, Vikram Abhinav Chowdary, M. Shrayes, and N. Gautham, were taking photos sitting on the lakeside. Suddenly, the two youths who ventured into the lake drowned.
On receiving the information, the police swung into action, reached the spot, and fished out the two bodies. The bodies were shifted to the Government hospital for autopsy.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is on.
