Officials inspect Kondagattu Hanuman temple vicinity
HYDERABAD: A week after Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao declared that the Anjaneya Swamy temple in Kondagattu, Jagtial district, would be developed into the largest Hanuman temple in the country, forest officials visited Kodimyala forest surroundings on Monday to chalk-out the temple expansion plans.
R.M. Dobriyal, principal chief conservator of forests surveyed the area and suggested plans to develop and restore two forest blocks in the surroundings.
In the first phase, a protective fence will be erected around the forest and a walking track will be laid in a five km area besides cultivating medicinal and aromatic plants over 1000 acres. A watch tower and a gazebo will also be constructed as resting places for devotees visiting the temple. Plantation of fruit trees will be undertaken and the work in that regard will start soon.
The temple will be constructed in an area of 800 acres with a cost of Rs 1,000 crores and the surrounding forest area will be developed with facilities for the devotees.
The forest department and Green India Challenge will jointly undertake the restoration work.
