Chennai: Following a recent DC report, ‘Shift bus stops to end mishaps, cries resident,’ both the bus stops, one for buses towards Porur and the other for buses to Poonamallee, were shifted about 100 metres from the signal.
Initially, both bus stops were very close to the signal, thus leading to mishaps when commuters rushed to get on to them. “The MTC branch manager told me about the development. He also said that the public is appreciating MTC’s act to move them to locations that would reduce the hazards for commuters,” said P. Senthil Kumar, of Ayyappanthangal, who had submitted regular letters of appeal to MTC for about two years.
