Southern Migrant United Front formed for migrants welfare
Hyderabad: In an attempt to bring all migrant communities on a single platform and to ensure they receive the benefits of the state and central Governments, a united platform Southern Migrant United Front (SMUFT) was formed in Hyderabad on Sunday.
The body will work to take care of the issues concerning the residents of other States living in Telangana. The concerns of these communities are varied and wide, without any inclusive organizations to address them, said Surender Singh of Uttar Pradesh, the man behind the initiative.
Representatives from different migrant communities residing in Telangana, their representatives from the respective states, participated in the meeting and presented their views.
“ Membership enrollment will be taken up initially and then activities of common interest would be taken up for the welfare of the members, “ said Satish Agarwal, President of SMUFT.
The front will also act as a bridge between the communities and the respective governments and work in collaboration. “ We will soon expand to other states and work with the local governments to ensure that the members receive the eligible benefits,” said Surender Singh.
