Stay on field for next 10 days: KTR tells party leaders

MLAs told to visit relief camps and inspect facilities

HYDERABAD: Municipal administration and urban development minister K.T. Rama Rao asked public representatives to stay on field during the next ten days and assist people who needed help while holding a review meeting with Hyderabad MLAs and MLCs at Pragathi Bhavan on Tuesday. Mr Rama Rao asked public representatives to ensure relief measures were being taken up promptly.

Mr Rama Rao appreciated elected public representatives, especially the GHMC-based MLAs and MLCs, for their decision to donate two month’s salaries to the CM Relief Fund in response to a call given by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.

He said that the government would provide support to every person who has been affected by heavy rains. If needed, the government was ready to spend more on relief measures. He appealed to all elected public representatives, residential welfare associations and NGOs to come together and support the government in providing relief measures to citizens.

The minister assured citizens that the government would come up with permanent solutions to avoid flood-like situations in the city. He asked MLAs to ensure that financial assistance reached all affected families in their respective areas.

He also asked MLAs to visit relief camps and inspect the measures and facilities being provided there. He told them to ensure that toilets are set up apart from medicines availability, blankets and food arrangements.

MIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi, MLAs Danam Nagender, Sudheer Reddy, Mayor Bonthu Rammohan and local GHMC corporators accompanied the minister.
