Woman and Man, Both in Their 40s, Receive Voter ID Cards with Birth Year 1900

WARANGAL: A couple from Kamalapur mandal of Hanamkonda district was shocked after receiving their voter identity card from the Election Commission in which their date of birth was mentioned 1900 and age as 123 years.

Kodepaka Kotilingam, 44, and Padma, 42, had applied for the ID cards for the first time. Their date of birth in the card was mentioned 1-1-1900 on the cards.

Kotilingam in a video that was posted on social media showed the voter ID cards and said he was shocked when he saw the details. He said they had given the correct details.

“When went to the MRO office with voter ID cards, the officials who laughed. Thhey asked us to fill a form to correct the mistakes. When I went to Mee Seva centres and examined, the corrections were not done and the cards mentioned the same date of birth as 1900,” he added.

He urged the officials of the concerned department to correct the mistakes and issue new voter ID cards to him and to his wife.
