CM Jagan invokes Allah's blessings for people

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday said with blessings of Allah on occasion of Id-ul-Fitr, people of Andhra Pradesh will flourish in all aspects.

The CM, in his tweet, wished all Muslims Eid Mubarak, and underlined that Ramzan promotes tolerance, fraternity, kindness and generosity among people, and takes away ill-feeling, injustice and hatred.

According to reports reaching the state headquarters, Muslims all over the state celebrated Ramzan with religious fervour, offering special prayers at Idgahs and masjids and exchanging pleasantries with each other.

In Vijayawada, the Idgah committee organised Ramzan celebrations at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium. YSR Congress leaders Malladi Vishnu and Devineni Avinash were among those who attended the celebrations.

In Kadapa, Deputy Chief Minister S.B. Amjad Basha offered special prayers at Ameena Idgah grounds, where Pedda Dargah peer Hazarath Sayyad Sha Arifulla Hussainee led the prayers.

Muslims in large numbers visited Idgahs and offered special prayers in Kakinada, Konaseema, Eluru and East and West Godavari districts. They also went to burial grounds and offered prayers to their departed elders.

In Rajamahendravaram, MP Margani Bharat took part in special prayers and announced sanction of Shadikhana on 31 cents of land, along with financial aid of ₹2 crore.

Thousands of Muslims gathered at Idgahs and masjids in Kurnool, Nandyal and Adoni and offered prayers. They woke up early on the day, commencing their Tarab Namaz at 4 a.m.

Muslims shared sweets and vermicelli kheer, besides organising community luncheons for friends from all communities.

Kurnool MLA Hafeez Khan and Panyam MLA Katasani Rambhupal Reddy also participated in Ramzan prayers.
