Modiji has completed two outstanding years of governing our country and is exactly what the doctor ordered. He launched the Swachh Bharat campaign in remembrance of Gandhiji’s words and he himself cleaned the road, inspiring several celebrities, noted personalities, politicians and students to do the same. His campaign includes raising awareness through social media platforms!
Social media is targeted mainly at the youth of our country and it is they who are the ultimate game changers. For a political figure like himself and of his age, it is extremely important to be in touch with the youth and by doing so, he is securing our country’s future. The excellent orator that he is, his revolutionary speeches in New York, England, and many more places have created a global stir and inspired people of all ages to pay more attention towards their motherland even if their contribution may be on a small scale. There has been no PM till date, who has such a following based on his ideals and plans to make India a first world country. Acche din aayenge is bang on!

Good news: PM Modi seems to be talking more than all our previous PMs combined. Bad news: His kickass speechwriters from 2014 seem to have left. Good news: The PM and the Cabinet seem to be meaning business and trying to get some work done. Bad news: A whole truckload of loonies are hell-bent on diverting attention with inane statements on beef, four children, Maharana Pratap and what not. Good news: Many of the ministries are performing quite well.. Bad news: We are still far away from Achhe Din. Good news: The opposition is keeping the government on its toes. Bad news: There is no single opposition leader who can be a credible alternative to Modi, thus rendering the threats rather empty. Good news: Only two years are over.

Some good some bad
I think there has definitely been a change and that too for the better with the Modi government. It’s always difficult to change something that has become a habit but look at the cleanliness spree the PM has arranged for and worked on; it has always been most needed. Yes, there has been a lot said and done on the same, some good some bad but he keeps going and it’s a great feat to have achieved what he has. I think Modiji has proved to be a good leader and it’s a welcome breeze of change.

‘Impressed with the start up’
India definitely needs a change maker like the Modi government. I am particularly impressed with their Start-up India campaign that is a great boost to entrepreneurship across the country. Keeping in mind the proposed 80 per cent rebate on a patent filing fee and a dedicated incubator cell to hand-hold young business owners, this will definitely go a long way to promote a favourable environment for progress.
However, I feel that we still need a more transparent, streamlined and maybe even a one stop-shop oriented regulation manual when it comes to the F&B industry — for example, taxation, FSSAI and FDI in the hospitality sector. I am also particularly concerned about the rising prices of basic necessities such as vegetables, dals, etc., which are a staple for the common man and are now turning out to be unaffordable for even a middle-class individual. How will a man below the poverty line survive without his daily bread?”

Too early to judge the Government
The effects of a new government cannot be seen immediately. He was handed a country that was in a mess. Bureaucracy and corruption are deeply ingrained in the country and even for the new government it’s going to be an uphill task to reverse that. I would not judge the government yet, but wait to see the effects. Unfortunately, politics interfere with every good decision a government wants to make, and unless the opposition and the ruling party are on the same page — where they put the country first before their political views — progress is very difficult. I know for a fact that there is a lot of infrastructure being developed around rural areas and in the depths of the states, even though it’s not reported.
This is a good move and rural development was something that should have been tackled long ago. Swachh Bharat should be enforced to have a complete change of mindset of millions of Indians who are grossly ignorant of civic values.
