Leaders of all parties will be invited for Srivari Kalyanam: Gangula
KARIMNAGAR: The construction works of the Sri Venkateshwara Swamy temple will be taken up with Bhukarshanam on Monday in Karimnagar city and will be completed within a year.
Leaders irrespective of their political affiliation have been invited to the event. Karimnagar MP and TS BJP unit chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar, former MP and Congress leader Ponnam Prabhakar will be invited for the grand event of Srivari Kalyana Mahotsavam which will be held on May 31, informed Backward Class welfare minister Gangula Kamalakar. He was addressing the media along with the representatives of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) here at the Roads and Buildings (R&B) guest house in Karimnagar on Sunday.
Kamalakar said after conducting initial prayers on Monday, the foundation stone for the construction of the Srivari temple will be set on May 31. The temple will be constructed with milky white stone which will be imported from Tamil Nadu.
On the same day, Srivari Kalyanam will be held on a grand note. Along with residents of Karimnagar city, several leaders irrespective of political parties will be invited to the Srivari Kalyanam. People should not see the event from a political lens. It is a sacred programme and will be held on a grand note on May 31, he added.
TTD chief priest Venugopal Dikshitulu said Lord Sri Venkateshwara Swamy presided at Tirumala for protecting his devotees of this era of Kaliyugam. Even though the construction will begin on May 31, the initial prayers will be held as per Vaikhanasa Agama Shastra with the beginning of Mithuna Lagnam on Monday.
The rituals and services that are provided for the devotees at the famous TTD will also be followed at the Sri Venkateshwara Swamy temple after its construction in Karimnagar, the minister informed.
Karimnagar mayor Y. Sunil Rao, BRS leader Challa Harishankar, Agamashastra expert Mohana Ranga, executive engineer Narasimha Murthy were present.
