Ex-naval official to make fresh appeal to CM Jagan on his missing daughter

Visakhapatnam: A former naval official, who worked in Vizag before retirement and now living in Mumbai, would make a fresh appeal to Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to find his daughter who went missing from here in September 2012.

Against the backdrop of Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan making allegations on missing women in Andhra Pradesh, former naval official Harishandra Pandey said the police stopped giving updates on his daughter.

“As per the orders of the AP High Court, the police should inform me of the status of the case while conducting the search,’’ Pandey told this correspondent on Monday.

Sadhana, who was then aged 24, completed her BTech (Civil Engineering) in Vizag in 2012, when her father was serving the Eastern Naval Command. Later, she joined as civil engineer in a private construction company in the city.

When the father moved to Mumbai in 2012 after his retirement, she remained in the city to pursue her career. She was staying at a hostel in Seethammdhara area here.

On September 24, 2012, she had informed the management of the company that her father had met with an accident in Mumbai and she had to rush home. However, she never reached Mumbai and went missing.

Giving up hopes of finding Sadhana after a long search, Harischandra registered a case in February 2013 at Dwaraka Zone Police Station. Harichandra even named one Rambhir Singh Rawat, an employee of ENC and a resident of Malkapuram who had allegedly made phone calls to Sadhana on the day she went missing.

Following pressure from the defence department, the Dwaraka police made a search for the woman. “After I left for Mumbai and began working for a private company, the police stopped the search,” the father said.

Dwaraka zone ACP R.V.S.N. Murthy admitted that the case is in the freezer. He said a lie detector test was done on Rawat, but he came out clean. “Pandey should give us more clues so that the search could make some progress,’’ the ACP said.
