KCR Nutrition Kit excellent for pregnant women: Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar

Kothagudem: Transport minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar underlined that KCR Nutrition Kit introduced by BRS government is the best for good health of pregnant women and their kids in the state.

He pointed out that this new scheme has been introduced after a survey undertaken by the government found many pregnant women anaemic. The government has thus introduced the KCR Nutrition Kit, which provides sufficient nutrients, including proteins, minerals and iron, for good health of the woman before her delivery.

Ajay Kumar launched the KCR Nutrition Kit in Kothagudem on Wednesday. He said the programme has been taken up in nine districts of Telangana, including Mulugu and Mahabubabad. About 16,000 kits will be distributed in the Bhadradri-Kothagudem district during the first phase.

The minister explained that women are given two types of kits, one during pregnancy and the other after delivery. KCR Nutrition Kit is given during pregnancy and KCR Kit after the birth of the child for well-being of the woman and child.

Ajay said there are 1.25 lakh pregnant women in Telangana and the government is spending ₹50 crore on the scheme.
