APSSDC signs MoU for overseas placements
Vijayawada: A tripartite memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed on Wednesday between AP State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC), AP Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRTS) and TAKT Group for securing overseas placements for youth from Andhra Pradesh in various sectors, such as healthcare, construction, hospitality and IT.
Announcing this, APSSDC managing director S. Satyanarayana said the TAKT Group has selected 15 candidates through a virtual conference on March 9 to work as nurses in Germany. The nursing candidates selected will be provided German language training (GLT) for three months. No charges will be collected from them for providing training, food and accommodation. Post completion of training, they will be provided employment within Germany.
Satyanarayana said as part of AP government’s plan to tap international / overseas placement opportunities, they are focusing not only on the European Union but also regions like the Middle East, Australia, Canada, Japan and the USA.
The APSSDC MD said they have initiated a holistic strategy to improve access and quality of skill development initiatives as per the skill cascade concept prioritised by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy through collaborative efforts of Department of Employment and Training, Technical Education, Collegiate Education and Department of Industries, among others.
Venkat S. Medapati, president of APNRT, Raaj Singh, managing director, TAKT Group, London; and Patrik Kovacs, co-president, Hungarian National Employers Organisation were among those present on the occasion.
