Muslim bodies plan vacation classes
Hyderabad: With examinations coming to an end and students gearing up for Summer vacation, several Muslim religious organisations and groups are encouraging the teenagers to enroll for capsule religious courses.
The classes spreading over 15 days to 45 days duration will include religious discourses, Quran classes and Urdu language learning. To make it more interesting, a few organisations are including sports and indoor games.
“Round the year, the students are very busy with academics and strays away from religion. To make them more familiar with Islam, its teachings and ethics and the Quran, we conduct classes. As the students are in a leisure mood during the Summer vacation, they come and attend the course,” informed Syed Azeemuddin, coordinator of a camp being organised at Shahi Masjid Baghe-Aam from the first week of April.
The camp focuses on girls who are studying in intermediate, graduation and post graduation courses. “In addition to the basics of Islam, there will be classes by eminent women Islamic scholars from Jamia Nizamia seminary on Sharia law,” he added.
Students Islamic Organisation (SIO) organises similar summer camps across the city during the annual vacation. Several ‘mohalla’ (locality), based Madrasas attached to mosques are also chalking out courses for the children of neighbourhood.
